2023 Alma Taylor Foundation Grant Program

The Alma Taylor Foundation (ATF) grant program provides reimbursement as matching funds to pre-approved projects, up to maximum lifetime grant award of $20,000 per building address.

The grant applicant must be the owner of record or contract purchaser of a commercial building located in the Historic Downtown Greensburg district, defined as the area within two blocks of the Courthouse Square. The building, or the part of the building to be repaired, must be used for commercial purposes only and not private residences or residential rentals, church-related or governmental purposes. That is, if the building is of mixed use, only the commercial portion of the building is eligible for an ATF grant.

The grant program is designed to encourage the maintenance and improvement of commercial buildings, with the emphasis on the preservation of historic features that contribute to the distinctive character of Downtown Greensburg. Suggested exterior projects include façade repair and paint, roofs, windows, awnings, signage, and lighting. Interior projects can be heating/air, electrical, plumbing, or floor/wall structural repair. Grant funding is not available for working capital, property acquisition, or refinancing existing debt.

Applicants must first submit the INTENT TO APPLY form, proposed budget, and this signed
